    Girls Football Academy

Carshalton Boys Sports College is proud to introduce the Girls Football Academy: a two-year development pathway for talented young footballers, combining a dynamic, professionally delivered training programme with a full-time Sixth Form education.

    Mission statement:

‘To provide a professionally delivered football development programme that enables young players to develop physically, technically, tactically and psychologically with ambitions of progressing players into local clubs, delivered alongside a full-time education pathway that meets learning needs and career aspirations.’

    Academic Curriculum

The Girls Football Academy programme runs alongside a full academic programme at Carshalton Boys Sports College. The football programme is unique in that students can select from any of the A-Level or vocational programmes on offer. We strongly believe students should have the opportunity to study any course on offer and are proud to have this as one of our unique and important programme elements.

CBSC actively provides information, advice and guidance on courses to ensure students can fulfil their career aspirations and progress on to the next stages of their learning or development.

    The Academy Programme

The Girls Football Academy programme will develop knowledge, understanding and performance in the following key areas:

    1. Technical Skill Development — Ball mastery built through structured, progressive coaching sessions.
    1. Tactical Awareness — Reading the game, shape and decision-making across different formations and match situations.
    1. Physical Conditioning — Strength, speed and endurance work tailored to the demands of competitive youth football.
    1. Preparation for Performance — Warm-up, recovery and match-day readiness as part of everyday training habits.
    1. Coaching — Introductory coaching experience, building communication and leadership skills on the training pitch.
    1. Applying the Laws of the Game — A working understanding of the rules that govern fair, competitive football.
    1. Lifestyle Management — Nutrition, rest and time management to support performance both in football and academic study.
    1. Planning and Managing Your Sporting Career — Understanding routes forward — club pathways, further education, and career options in and around the game.

The programme has been designed to provide an exciting opportunity for students interested in a career in sport to acquire and develop a wide range of skills and experiences needed to perform at the highest level.

Students will train and play in official academy kit.

    Academy Code of Conduct

To ensure the integrity and professionalism of the programme, all players will sign and follow the academy Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is in place to support students physically, mentally and socially through their football and academic journey. Key areas focus on attendance, punctuality, conduct, kit as well as playing expectations.
