    AMBITION MEETS OPPORTUNITY

CBSC Sixth Form offers a wide and ambitious range of  A Level and Level 3 courses, giving every student the chance to find the right path — whether that's Russell Group universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, or employment with training. Our courses combine academic rigour with real breadth, spanning traditional A-Levels through to industry-focused BTECs, Cambridge Technicals, the new V Levels  and Applied qualifications. Whatever your goal, we have a route to get you there.

What to Study and Entry Requirements

When you join CBSC Sixth Form, you'll begin a two-year Level 3 study programme designed to stretch and prepare you for the next stage of your life. To secure your place, you'll need:

    ●        5 GCSEs at grades 9–4, including English and Mathematics

    ●        The specific entry requirements for your chosen course(s)

    What are A-Levels?

A-Levels are academic, examination-based Level 3 qualifications offered by schools, sixth forms and colleges nationwide. They are the traditional gold-standard route into university and higher education, and are highly valued for their depth of subject knowledge and rigour. A-Levels focus on academic subjects and are ideal for students who enjoy in-depth study and want to keep their options open for competitive university courses.

What are Level 3 BTECs, Cambridge Technicals and AAQs?

These qualifications are equivalent in standing to A-Levels but are assessed through a blend of coursework and examinations, often with a strong applied, real-world focus. They are a genuine and highly respected alternative route — opening doors to university, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, or direct entry into employment. At CBSC, we offer courses worth either 60 credits (equivalent to one A-Level) or 120 credits (equivalent to two A-Levels), giving you the flexibility to build a programme that plays to your strengths.

From September 2027, we will also be offering the new V Level — a Level 3 vocational qualification introduced by the Department for Education, equivalent in size to one A-Level. V Levels combine applied, occupation-focused learning with the flexibility to be studied alongside A-Levels, T-Levels, or other Level 3 courses, giving you even more ways to build a programme that suits your goals. Our first V Level offer will be in Digital , Education and Finance and Accounting.

    Level 2 - Foundation Year

CBSC are delighted to introduce a new pathway, starting in September 2027.  Not every student arrives at Sixth Form with the same starting point — and at CBSC, we believe that shouldn't determine how far a student can go. That's why we're introducing a new three-year pathway into our Sixth Form, designed for students who need an extra year to build the foundations for genuine Level 3 success.
