Year 9

All pupils study the same core curriculum in Year 9, with the addition of Bridge Options. Year 9 follows a two-week timetable.

Curriculum provision across the two-week timetable is English, Mathematics and Science (8 hours per fortnight each) and PE (4 hours). Pupils are taught a Modern Foreign Language, either Spanish or French (3 hours per fortnight), Geography and History (3 hours between them), and RE, Citizenship and Computer Studies (1 hour between them), alongside Personal Development (1 hour). Pupils also follow a half-termly carousel of Academic Enrichment subjects — Art, Music and Design & Technology (3 hours per fortnight), delivered as a block of 12 lessons before pupils rotate to the next subject. Additionally, pupils choose two Bridge Options (2 hours each per fortnight) from Business Studies, Creative iMedia, Engineering, Construction, Food Technology, Drama, Photography, HPQ, Oracy, Classical Civilisation and Media Studies.
